Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.00pm, 35 hours per week
We are seeking to appoint as soon as possible proactive and reliable HLTAs to join an amazing Inclusive Learning Faculty. The successful candidate will enjoy working with young people and will play a key role in supporting students in school, both in class and through the delivery of small group work. In addition, the successful candidate may be required to work in the Learning Support Centre in a HLTA capacity.
The role is to work under the line management of the SENDCO in order to provide an effective and efficient support service for students. Responsibilities include:
- Offering Higher Learning Support within the Inclusive Learning Faculty
- Conducting comprehensive student needs assessments, lesson plans and learning activities
- Delivering specific parts of the tailored intervention or providing guidance on a specialist area to pupils who require help
- Assessing, tracking, and monitoring pupil attainment and informing interventions accordingly, including key groups: boys, PP students and SEND, to ensure they make the maximum progress
- Using specialist skills to support students
- Supporting teaching and learning across the school
- Delivering lessons and cover in the absence of teachers
- Supporting pupils individually and in small groups
- Assisting with planning, assessment, and classroom resources
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- Supporting pupils with additional needs
- Working closely with teachers and the wider school team
The Ideal Candidate:
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience in a school setting (primary or secondary)
- Confident in classroom management and delivering lessons
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexible, proactive, and reliable
- Knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
