We’re on the lookout for a brilliantly compassionate and wonderfully patient maths tutor to work one-on-one with Looked After Children and those who are in Alternative Provisions. These young people might not fit the traditional classroom mold, but they’re bursting with potential — and you could be the one to help unlock it.
What you’ll be doing:
- Turning “I hate maths” into “I CAN do this!”
- Bringing algebra, geometry, and times tables to life in creative, hands-on ways.
- Working flexibly, sometimes in homes, sometimes in schools, always making a difference.
- Acting as a mentor as much as a teacher – a steady presence in a young person’s chaotic world.
Requirements:
- A maths expert with a teaching qualification or a maths degree and the equivalent experience.
- Experience with young people who’ve faced challenges? Amazing.
- Patient, kind, and a positive influence.
- Able to work flexibly and independently.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willing to apply for one).
