About the Role
A well-regarded secondary school in Newport is seeking a passionate Mathematics Teacher to join their team from October 2025. This mixed 11–18 comprehensive school, with around 830 learners, is known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support, and high expectations for behaviour and progress. You will teach Maths across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential Key Stage 5 teaching if desired. You’ll be delivering engaging, thought-provoking lessons that build mathematical fluency, critical thinking, and confidence in applying maths to real-world scenarios. The school fosters a caring, respectful community and offers excellent support for pupils with additional learning needs, strong systems for monitoring progress, behaviour, and attendance to help ensure learners receive the support they need. What We’re Looking for?
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or completing their induction
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics KS3/KS4 (KS5 desirable)
- Can create an inclusive and positive learning environment
- Possess excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
Requirements
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Minimum of two professional references covering 24 months of employment
