Are you passionate about teaching core subjects but looking for something more flexible and rewarding than a traditional classroom role? We’re seeking a dedicated tutor to support children and young people in the Stockport (SK1) area with one-to-one tuition in Maths and English. Pupils may be out of school for various reasons – whether due to medical needs, school anxiety, or other barriers to mainstream education – and your input could be key to helping them rebuild confidence and make real academic progress.

Tuition typically takes place either in the pupil’s home or in a safe, quiet public setting such as a local library. Sessions are fully tailored to individual needs and can range from early Key Stage levels through to GCSE preparation.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience supporting or teaching Maths and English (primary, secondary, or both)
  • Patience and adaptability, especially when working with pupils who may have missed significant learning time
  • A nurturing, encouraging approach that builds trust and engagement
  • Ability to plan and deliver focused, engaging sessions one-to-one
  • A current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
