Bright Futures Education Trust is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant (Grade 3) to join a supportive primary SEN school in Manchester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and communication difficulties. You will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their full potential in a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering adapted and engaging lessons
  • Support pupils with personal care needs, ensuring dignity and wellbeing at all times
  • Encourage the development of social, emotional, and independence skills
  • Implement behaviour management strategies consistently
  • Monitor progress and communicate effectively with teachers and SENCOs
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Qualifications

  • Teaching Assistant Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
  • Previous experience working in a primary SEN or specialist setting
  • Confidence in providing personal care support
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience with ASC, SEMH, or additional learning needs is highly desirable
  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
