About the Role
As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across a range of ages (typically Primary and Secondary: 5–16 years) with additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD and behavioural challenges
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support and assist in small group interventions
- Support pupils with academic tasks, emotional regulation, and social development
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons
- Help implement EHCP targets and individual support plans
- Use positive behaviour management strategies and de‑escalation techniques
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom environment

- A passionate, empathetic, and proactive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Any previous experience working with children, SEN, or in care/support settings is highly desirable
