Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a nurturing and well-established SEMH primary provision to recruit a passionate and resilient Primary Teacher to support pupils aged 5-11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a structured, trauma-informed and relationship-led environment for pupils who may struggle with emotional regulation, anxiety, attachment needs, trauma-related behaviours and disrupted education. Class sizes are small, allowing teachers to build strong relationships and deliver highly personalised learning. You will work closely with an experienced and supportive team, including teaching assistants, SENCOs, pastoral staff, behaviour specialists and external professionals, all committed to helping pupils re-engage with learning and develop confidence, independence and emotional resilience.

The Role Will Include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
  • Creating a safe, calm and structured classroom environment
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development alongside academic progress
  • Using trauma-informed and positive behaviour strategies
  • Implementing EHCP targets, behaviour plans and individual learning plans
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and pastoral staff
  • Monitoring progress and celebrating small but meaningful achievements
  • Building trusting relationships with pupils and families

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or a strong desire to develop in this area

  • Be adaptable, flexible and committed to inclusive education
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Previous SEMH or specialist school experience is desirable but not essential - a positive attitude, consistency and willingness to learn are key.
