Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a supportive secondary SEND provision to recruit a Qualified Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role is suitable for teachers with experience in SEND or for qualified secondary teachers who are keen to develop their skills within a specialist or inclusive setting. The school offers strong support from experienced SEN staff, teaching assistants and leadership teams. The pupils are aged 11-16 and have a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties. Class sizes are small, enabling highly personalised teaching and strong pupil relationships.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver adapted and differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • Implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans with guidance from the SENCO
  • Use inclusive teaching strategies and reasonable adjustments
  • Monitor and assess progress, providing feedback and support
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and SEN professionals
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience working with pupils with SEND, or a strong desire to develop in this area
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and inclusive teaching practice
  • Be patient, flexible and reflective in their approach
  • Communicate effectively and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing

Experience in a specialist SEND setting or alternative provision is desirable but not essential - enthusiasm, adaptability and a commitment to inclusion are key.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
