A specialist SEN Secondary School in Manchester is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Mentor to join their team from September 2026. The Role
As a Learning Support Mentor, you will work closely with students aged 11-16 who have a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop social skills, regulate emotions, and achieve positive outcomes. You will support pupils with needs such as:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Anxiety and Emotional Regulation Difficulties
Your Responsibilities
- Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring support
- Building strong, positive relationships with students
- Supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Encouraging engagement in lessons and school life
- Promoting positive behaviour and resilience
- Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals
- Supporting students during lessons, breaktimes, and enrichment activities
- Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
