We are currently recruiting for a Functional Skills Tutor to support learners in the Manchester (M2) area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to help students develop the English and Maths skills they need to progress in education, employment, and everyday life. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to learners working towards Functional Skills qualifications. You will support students of varying abilities, helping them build confidence and achieve their learning goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Functional Skills tuition in English and/or Maths.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learner needs.
  • Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support students in developing practical literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner attendance and achievement.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
  • Strong knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Relevant teaching qualification or tutoring experience.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
