Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Longsight to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism in a Year 4 class. This is a fantastic opportunity for a caring and patient individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs. You will play a key role in helping a pupil access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within a supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism throughout the school day
- Support the pupil's academic, social, and emotional development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil support plans
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with Autism or other additional learning needs
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN
