We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Design and Technology Technician to join our large, friendly and highly active Art and Design Technology Faculty. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive secondary school environment, offering vital practical and technical support across a range of creative disciplines.
You will be one of two technicians supporting teaching staff and students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, helping to ensure the smooth, safe and effective running of DT workshops, classrooms and food rooms.
- Support teaching staff in the delivery of the DT curriculum across Product Design, Graphics, Art Textiles and Food
- Provide practical support to students with coursework and project work
- Order, manage and maintain stock, materials, equipment and food ingredients
- Safely operate, maintain and monitor workshop tools and machinery
- Maintain DT workshops, classrooms and kitchen areas to a high standard
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments are adhered to at all times
Requirements:
- A degree and/or relevant industry experience in Design, Engineering, Art, Technology or a related field
- CAD/CAM proficiency
- A collaborative and flexible approach to supporting a busy faculty
- Potential for a permanent contract following the initial fixed-term period
