Secondary School General Cover Teacher – South West London

We are working closely with a number of secondary schools across South West London who are looking to appoint reliable and confident General Cover Teachers to provide classroom supervision and support across a range of subjects. This role is ideal for qualified teachers, ECTs, or experienced cover staff seeking flexible work or longer-term opportunities within secondary education.

Role Details

  • Position: General Cover Teacher (Secondary)
  • Location: South West London (including Wandsworth, Merton, Lambeth, Kingston and surrounding areas)
  • Working Pattern: Flexible – day-to-day, short-term and long-term cover available
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Type: Full-time or part-time options available

Responsibilities

  • Delivering pre-set lesson plans across a variety of subjects
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
  • Supporting students across KS3 & KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
  • Taking attendance and following safeguarding procedures
  • Providing feedback to departments where required

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), ECTs or experienced cover supervisors welcomed
  • Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
  • Confident engaging with students across KS3–KS4
  • Professional, reliable and adaptable
  • Ability to commute to schools across South West London
