Teaching Personnel Cardiff are currently seeking a qualified Teacher of English with QTS to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan. The position is available to start ASAP and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English teacher or NQT/ECT looking to secure a teaching role for the new academic year. The successful candidate will join a supportive school environment and teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils develop their literacy, communication and analytical skills in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
The Role
- Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teaching English Language and Literature
- Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Assessing and monitoring pupil progress
- Working collaboratively with the English department and wider school team
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Following the school's curriculum and safeguarding policies
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – mandatory
- Experience teaching English within a secondary school environment
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A commitment to supporting pupil progress and achievement
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons
- A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable
