Location: Llandeilo

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour

Are you passionate about transforming the lives of young people with additional needs? We are working alongside an innovative alternative provision unit in the Llandeilo area to recruit a dedicated Complex Needs Support Officer. This role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to young people aged 11-19, all of whom are on the autistic spectrum, with some learners presenting severe or profound learning difficulties.

This is a genuinely rewarding opportunity for someone who believes in inclusion, consistency, and seeing beyond barriers - supporting learners not just academically, but socially and emotionally too.

This specialist, purpose-built centre has been thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of children and young people with autism. Facilities include:

  • A purpose-built life skills flat to support transition into adulthood
  • Outdoor learning areas, including a bike track and specialist play park

As a Complex Needs Support Officer, you'll be a vital part of the day-to-day support structure, working closely with teaching staff to provide consistency, reassurance, and tailored encouragement throughout the school day.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for learners with Autism
  • Support learners during therapy and intervention sessions
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment
  • Support teachers with individualised lesson delivery and planning
  • Calmly manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using consistent strategies

Experience working in SEN settings, particularly with individuals on the Autism Spectrum.

A calm, confident approach to managing challenging behaviour.

Enhanced DBS (child workforce) or willingness to obtain one.

Full UK driving licence.
