SEN Support Assistant (SEMH) โ Exciting Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant, with a focus on Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), to join a well-regarded primary school in Tuebrook (L13).
Starting in September, this is a long-term role for two terms, supporting a child in a Reception class as part of the new intake. The successful candidate will provide tailored academic and social support, helping the pupil to settle and thrive within the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized support to a pupil with SEMH needs
- Assist with both academic progress and social development
- Implement and follow a personalized education plan
- Use effective de-escalation strategies where required
- Contribute to regular updates and progress reporting
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with SEN
- Strong understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour support strategies
- Confidence in using de-escalation techniques
- A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
