Teaching Personnel are currently seeking resilient and committed Primary SEMH Learning Support Assistants for temp-to-perm roles across schools in the West Derby and Fazakerley areas. These roles are based in challenging SEMH school environments, supporting pupils with EHCPs and a range of additional needs including SEMH, ASD, Autism and ADHD. Pupils may display challenging behaviour, so candidates must be confident, mentally strong, and able to remain calm under pressure.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs
  • Supporting children in line with their EHCPs
  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with SEN/SEMH (ideal but not essential)
  • Is resilient, patient and emotionally robust
  • Has a genuine desire to work in a challenging but rewarding environment
  • Is reliable, proactive and passionate about supporting vulnerable children
