A well-established and highly regarded nursery in Wavertree is looking to appoint a dedicated Nursery Nurse from September 2026. The setting provides excellent early years education and care for children aged 1 to 4 years. Role Overview

As a Nursery Nurse, you will play an integral part in creating a safe, stimulating and engaging environment for the children. Working closely with a supportive and experienced team, you will help to promote learning, encourage social development and ensure the overall well-being of every child in your care. Your enthusiasm, creativity and passion for early years development will be essential in delivering a positive experience for both children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, social and cognitive development
  • Provide individualised care to meet the unique needs of each child
  • Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fosters positive relationships between children, staff and parents
  • Observe, assess and record children’s progress, behaviour and development
  • Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised learning environment in line with health and safety regulations
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and implement the early years curriculum
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child’s day-to-day activities, progress and any concerns

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or an equivalent qualification)
  • Previous experience within a nursery or early years setting
  • Good understanding of early childhood development and best practice
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach with a genuine passion for working with children
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic first aid and safeguarding training (desirable)
