We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor to deliver engaging Functional Skills English and Maths tuition to learners who require additional support. Working weekdays during school hours, you'll help students build confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve positive outcomes through personalised learning.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Functional Skills lessons in English and/or Maths.
- Adapt lesson plans and resources to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Deliver high‑quality one‑to‑one or small group tuition.
- Assess learner progress and maintain accurate records.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and independence.
- Work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers and other professionals where required.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
- A recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) is desirable.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Experience supporting learners with SEN or SEMH is advantageous.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
