Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the secondary curriculum and examination requirements.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress, providing targeted feedback to support academic achievement.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies and promote a positive learning culture.
  • Differentiating teaching strategies to meet the varied learning needs, abilities, and interests of students.
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and participation.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, carers, and colleagues to support student development and wellbeing.

Requirements

  • QTS Certificate/ECT
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Confidence to manage groups of young people aged 11–16
  • Ability to deliver quality lessons that inspire
  • Must hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check, ideally on the DBS Update Service.
