A welcoming and well-established SEN secondary school in Leatherhead is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Nurture Teacher to join their supportive team on a full-time basis. Monday to Friday | 8:15am – 4:45pm

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across a range of subjects to secondary-aged students
  • Create a nurturing and supportive learning environment that promotes both academic progress and personal development
  • Support students with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including those who may display challenging behaviours
  • Develop positive relationships with students to encourage engagement, confidence, and independence
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral staff, and senior leaders to support student outcomes
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies where required
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Previous experience working within an SEN setting is essential
  • Experience teaching primary or secondary-aged students
  • Confident delivering a range of curriculum subjects, including English and Maths
  • Strong understanding of SEND and effective strategies to support learners with additional needs
  • Experience supporting students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach to teaching and behaviour management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people
