We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist educational setting. This provision supports children and young people with additional needs, including autism and associated communication or sensory needs. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
- Assist the class teacher with the delivery of tailored learning activities
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and behaviour
- Encourage independence and confidence within a structured environment
- Help implement individual education and support plans
- Liaise with teachers, therapists, and wider staff to ensure consistent support
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly autism (desirable)
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
- Resilience and a proactive attitude
- Relevant qualifications or training in education, care, or support work (preferred but not essential)
