Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting confident and enthusiastic HLTAs to support a variety of welcoming schools across Lancaster and surrounding areas. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same – perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of cover teaching, small group work, and classroom support.
Responsibilities
- Flexible work to fit around you
- Delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher
- Leading whole-class sessions across different subjects
- Ensuring a positive and focused learning environment
- Running small group sessions to support pupil progress
- Delivering targeted interventions in areas like literacy and numeracy
- Supporting pupils who may need additional help to reach their potential
- Assisting the class teacher with day-to-day learning
- Supporting pupils 1:1, including those with SEN
- Helping manage behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Creating an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Qualifications
- HLTA qualification or experience in a similar role
- Experience working in UK school settings
- Confidence leading lessons and working independently
- A positive, proactive attitude
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
