About the Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for children with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, and learning difficulties.
  • Help create a nurturing, structured environment that supports emotional regulation and learning.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENDCO, and external professionals to deliver tailored support.
  • Assist with classroom activities, sensory strategies, and behaviour support plans.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, confident, and motivated.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has previous experience supporting children with SEN (school, nursery, residential or youth settings all considered).
  • Is flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to the changing needs of the school day.
  • Has strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Can remain calm, encouraging, and positive in challenging situations.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to apply).
