About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Class Teacher to join our specialist team in Kettering. This role involves teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and moderate to profound learning needs, supporting them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured environment.

You will lead a small class of pupils with diverse needs, delivering a personalised and engaging curriculum tailored to support communication, independence, and life skills alongside academic development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet a wide range of learning needs
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Use a variety of communication strategies (e.g. PECS, Makaton, visual supports)
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external professionals
  • Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress using EHCP targets
  • Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive strategies
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, families, and carers

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with pupils with autism and complex learning needs (desirable but not essential)
