Year 4 Primary Teacher - Taunton

Role Overview

  • Position: Year 4 Primary Teacher

  • Salary: £2,000 - £2,400 per month (pro rata)

About the Role

As a Year 4 Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a positive and engaging classroom environment where pupils can thrive. Working alongside experienced staff and teaching assistants, you will deliver high‑quality learning experiences and support pupils both academically and socially.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre‑planned lessons to a Year 4 class
  • Support learning through whole‑class teaching, alongside 1:1 and small‑group support
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual pupil needs and abilities
  • Maintain strong classroom behaviour management and a positive learning environment
  • Supervise pupils during transitions, break times, and throughout the school day
  • Encourage confidence, participation, and inclusion across all activities
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider school staff to ensure consistency and support pupil progress

Qualifications

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Have experience or confidence teaching Key Stage 2 (Year 4 experience desirable)
  • Be calm, flexible, and adaptable in your approach
  • Demonstrate strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Passionate about pupil progress, wellbeing, and inclusive education
