Location: Crawley and Horsham, West Sussex

Teaching Personnel is recruiting full-time physical education (PE) teachers for both SEN specialist schools and SEMH provisions in Horsham. Whether you are an experienced PE specialist with a background in adaptive or inclusive sport, or a qualified secondary PE teacher looking for your next move, we have roles available for September 2026.

In our SEN settings, you will be working with pupils who have a wide range of needs including autism, SEMH, and learning disabilities, adapting your lessons to make sport and physical activity accessible and enjoyable for every individual.

What the role involves:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated PE lessons across a range of year groups and ability levels.
  • Adapting activities, equipment and expectations to make physical education accessible for pupils with additional needs.
  • Delivering lessons in line with the national curriculum for PE and any specialist frameworks used in SEN settings.
  • Promoting physical wellbeing, confidence and teamwork through a positive, inclusive approach.
  • Contributing to extracurricular sporting provision, fixtures and events where applicable.
  • Collaborating with SENCOs and support staff to plan effectively for pupils with EHCPs.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with PE as a subject specialism.
  • Experience teaching PE, ideally with some exposure to SEN or inclusive sport.
  • Knowledge of adaptive PE techniques and how to modify activities for pupils with additional needs.
  • An energetic, positive classroom presence with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Full-time availability from either an immediate start or September 2026.
