About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a well-established, Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Middlesbrough. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire young people and support them in achieving their full potential within the subject.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess History lessons for Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
  • Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Encourage students to think critically and develop a strong understanding of historical events.
  • Monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to help develop and enhance the History curriculum.
  • Contribute to school events and extracurricular opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Be a passionate History specialist with strong subject knowledge.
  • Inspire, motivate, and engage students of all abilities.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Show commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Have experience teaching GCSE History (desirable but not essential).
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
