Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the CF24 area of Cardiff . This role would suit a confident practitioner who can hit the ground running , adapt quickly to the needs of the school, and support children across a range of abilities and year groups. The successful candidate will be: Nurturing, caring, and patient , with a genuine passion for supporting children s learning and wellbeing.
Experienced in a primary setting , with a good understanding of classroom practice and the ability to lead small groups or whole-class sessions when required. Flexible and reliable , able to adapt to different roles and responsibilities within the school day. Ideally experienced in supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN/SEN) , including those with behavioural, social, or communication needs.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver planned lessons or interventions under the direction of the class teacher or SENCO. Provide targeted support to pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis. Contribute to planning, assessment, and record-keeping.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. Support with classroom management and promote positive behaviour. Requirements: HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience working in a primary school setting . Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to be part of a supportive team.
