SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a one-year maternity cover contract .
You’ll be supporting students who may struggle with their emotional wellbeing, behaviour, confidence and engagement in school.
The role will involve working closely with students on a 1:1 and small-group basis, helping them to feel settled, access their learning and make positive progress.
The role
- Full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant
- One-year maternity cover
- Based in a secondary school in Heywood
- 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
- Working alongside teachers and the wider pastoral/SEN team
- Helping students build confidence and engage positively with school
Were looking for someone who
- Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs
- Has experience managing challenging behaviour
- Is patient, calm and consistent
- Can build positive relationships with students
- Is passionate about supporting young people who may need additional guidance
