Cover Supervisor – Hedge End

Contract – Part Time and Full Time

Start date – January 2026

We are looking for confident, adaptable and enthusiastic Primary Cover Supervisors to support a variety of friendly primary schools across Hedge End. This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with children who are looking to step into a classroom leadership position without the full responsibilities of a qualified teacher.

Who We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children in a school, nursery, or youth setting
• Confidence managing a primary classroom independently
• Strong communication skills and a calm, positive approach
• Ability to build quick rapport with pupils across KS1 and KS2
• Reliability, flexibility and professionalism when adapting to different school environments
• Confidence delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and maintaining pupil engagement

What You’ll Be Doing

• Supervising whole classes in the absence of the class teacher
• Delivering pre-set lessons and keeping pupils focused and on task
• Managing behaviour in line with school policies
• Providing support to pupils throughout the school day
• Following school routines, expectations and safeguarding procedures
• Creating a positive, well-structured learning environment
