Trainee Teaching Assistant - Graduate & College Leaver Opportunity


We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a thriving mainstream school in Chorley throughout the 2026/2027 academic year.


Whether you're a recent university graduate or college leaver, this role provides an excellent opportunity to develop experience within education while making a positive difference in the lives of young people.


Main Duties



  • Assist teachers with classroom learning activities.

  • Support pupils with their academic progress.

  • Deliver intervention activities to small groups.

  • Encourage positive learning behaviours.

  • Help maintain a safe and productive classroom environment.

  • Provide additional support to pupils as required.


What We’re Looking For



  • Previous experience working with children is essential.

  • Relevant experience can include:

    • Sports coaching

    • Tutoring

    • Youth work

    • Holiday clubs

    • Mentoring programmes

    • Children’s activity programmes



  • All experience must be from a professional and referenceable setting.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Enthusiastic, patient, and committed approach.

  • No formal qualification required.
