We are currently recruiting for an Emotional Wellbeing Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Chorley from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As an Emotional Wellbeing Support Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will play a key role in helping students develop positive coping strategies, build resilience, improve engagement and successfully access education.
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with students.
- Supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
- Encouraging emotional regulation, confidence and self-esteem.
- Assisting teachers in creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Promoting positive behaviour and helping pupils achieve personal and academic goals.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
