About the Roles: Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting SEN Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Support Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN and SEMH schools throughout Portsmouth and Hampshire. These roles support children and young people with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and complex needs.

Rates (where stated): Support Assistants / Teaching Assistants: £13.75 per hour. Qualified Teachers: Paid to scale.

Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assist with learning activities and emotional regulation
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive environment
  • Support behaviour management strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and school staff
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH (education, care, youth work, or support settings)
  • QTS required for teaching roles
  • Teaching Assistant or support experience desirable (training can be provided)
  • Calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
