Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across a variety of secondary schools in Hastings. This role is ideal for confident and proactive individuals who can support teaching and learning at a higher level, including leading small group sessions, delivering pre-planned lessons, and providing targeted support to students. You will play an important role in helping students aged 11-16 engage with their learning while supporting teachers in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of a teacher when required
- Lead small group interventions and targeted support sessions
- Provide 1:1 support to students who require additional help
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) where appropriate
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Requirements
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience supporting learning in schools
- Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
- Confidence delivering lessons and managing groups of students
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
