Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a number of schools across Hastings and the wider East Sussex area and is currently seeking experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support pupils on a flexible, long-term, or permanent basis. This role is ideal for qualified and experienced support staff who are looking to take the next step in their education career and play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.
The Role:
- Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
- Delivering learning activities and interventions to individuals and small groups
- Leading whole-class learning during teacher absence when required
- Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN
- Assisting with planning, preparation, and assessment of learning activities
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment
- Providing feedback on pupil progress to teachers and senior staff
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA within a school setting
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience (desirable)
- Strong knowledge of the primary or secondary curriculum
- Confidence leading lessons and managing classroom behaviour
- Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
- A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
