Teaching Personnel is working closely with a number of secondary schools across Hastings and the wider East Sussex area and is currently recruiting a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join their teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about English and dedicated to helping students develop strong literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills. This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for flexible, long-term, or permanent opportunities.
The Role:
- Teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential opportunities at KS5 depending on the school)
- Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality, engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress
- Supporting pupils of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with department staff, SEN teams, and school leadership
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- A recognised degree or qualification in English or a related subject
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum at secondary level
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A professional, reliable, and adaptable approach to teaching
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
