We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Biology Teacher to work in secondary schools across Hastings and the surrounding areas of East Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about Biology and committed to inspiring students and promoting high-quality science education. This role is suitable for experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are looking for long-term, permanent, or flexible teaching opportunities.
The Role:
- Teaching Biology across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with opportunities to teach KS5 in some schools)
- Planning and delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress
- Supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and well-managed laboratory and classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with the wider Science department and school staff
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- A recognised degree in Biology or a related science subject
- Strong subject knowledge of the secondary Biology curriculum
- Confidence delivering practical science lessons and maintaining health and safety standards
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- A professional, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach to teaching
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
