We are working with a secondary school in Harrow seeking a passionate and practical Design & Technology Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a DT specialist who can deliver engaging, hands-on lessons and inspire students to develop both creative and technical skills.
The Role:
- Deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to teach KS5 depending on experience.
- Plan and deliver a broad DT curriculum that may include product design, resistant materials, graphics, or food technology, tailored to your specialism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging DT lessons that promote creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking.
- Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential).
- Assess, track, and report on pupil progress in line with school policies.
- Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring workshop/classroom environment.
- Support pupils of varying abilities through effective differentiation.
- Contribute to the wider life of the department and school community.
- Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour policies at all times.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.
- Experience teaching DT in a UK secondary school setting.
- Confident classroom management skills.
- A creative, enthusiastic, and resilient approach to teaching.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
