Responsibilities
- As a Cover Supervisor, youâll guide students aged 11â16, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and ensure a positive, productive atmosphere in the absence of teaching staff.
- Youâll help maintain momentum in learning while developing your own skills and understanding of school lifeâideal preparation for a future teaching career.
- Supervising classes and delivering set lesson plans
- Maintaining a calm, focused, and engaging learning environment
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting students with additional or special educational needs where required
- Acting as a positive role model and trusted adult for learners
Qualifications
- Experience working with secondary-aged students (school, youth work, tutoring, mentoring etc.)
- Confidence working independently in a classroom setting
- Ability to support students with additional learning needs (SEN experience an advantage)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive rapport
- Genuine enthusiasm for supporting young people and helping them succeed
