Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in education? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the Berkeley area.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, recent graduate, aspiring teacher, or someone with experience supporting young people in other settings.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Providing behavioural, social, and emotional support
  • Encouraging student engagement and participation in lessons
  • Helping create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting students with additional learning needs where required

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, either in education or another relevant setting
  • Is patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is committed to supporting students' academic and personal development
  • Can adapt to different situations and work effectively as part of a team

Experience in areas such as youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, care work, psychology, or education would be highly beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
