Reception Teaching Assistant Teaching Assistant Location: Runcorn, WA7 Start Date: November 2026 £14.25 per hour Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded primary school in the Runcorn area from November 2026. This role would suit an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant childcare experience looking to transition into a school-based setting. The Role As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children during one of the most important stages of their educational journey. Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team, you will help create a stimulating and engaging environment that encourages curiosity, confidence and a love of learning. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting children's learning through play-based activities and structured lessons Working with small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills Providing additional support to pupils who may require extra guidance Assisting with phonics sessions and early reading development Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social development Supporting children's personal, social and emotional wellbeing Helping to create an engaging and welcoming classroom environment Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents About the School The school is known for its strong community values, supportive staff culture and focus on ensuring every child feels valued and included. We're Looking For Experience working with children in EYFS, nursery, preschool or primary settings A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum would be advantageous A positive, patient and nurturing approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A genuine passion for supporting young children's development Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Why Work Through Teaching Personnel?
