We are recruiting experienced SEMH Learning Support Assistants to work within specialist primary and secondary schools supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This role involves providing consistent classroom and behavioural support to students who may present with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties and barriers to learning. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to help create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where students can build confidence, resilience and engagement in education.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Managing behaviour using positive and therapeutic approaches
- Assisting students with emotional regulation and social development
- Encouraging participation in lessons and daily activities
- Building trusted relationships with students and staff
- Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom
Previous experience working within SEMH, SEN, alternative provision or similar specialist settings is essential. Candidates should be resilient, calm under pressure and confident managing challenging behaviour. Due to the rural location of the schools, access to a car is highly preferable. Immediate and September starts available. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
