We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs from September. This is a rewarding opportunity for a strong and compassionate individual who can build positive relationships, provide consistent support, and help a child achieve both academically and emotionally during their final year of primary school.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs.
- Support the child's emotional regulation, engagement, and learning throughout the school day.
- Implement strategies and interventions in line with the pupil's individual needs and support plans.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, parents, and external professionals.
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and self-esteem.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
- Is calm, patient, resilient, and able to remain positive in challenging situations.
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with children.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to supporting children's wellbeing and educational progress.
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or has equivalent experience (desirable).
