✨Know Your Childcare Basics

Brush up on your understanding of early years development and the key principles of childcare. Familiarise yourself with common practices in nurseries, such as routines, play-based learning, and emotional support. This will help you demonstrate your knowledge and passion during the interview.

✨Share Your Experiences

Even if you're unqualified, you likely have valuable experiences to share. Think about your time in childcare settings, nannying, or even caring for younger siblings. Be ready to discuss specific situations where you supported a child's development or handled challenges.

✨Show Your Empathy

As an Early Years Practitioner, empathy is key. Prepare to talk about how you connect with children and their families. Share examples of how you've built relationships in past roles, and express your genuine desire to create a nurturing environment for children.

✨Ask Thoughtful Questions

Interviews are a two-way street! Prepare some questions that show your interest in the nursery and its approach to childcare. Ask about their methods for supporting children's emotional development or how they involve families in the learning process. This shows you're engaged and eager to contribute.
