Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to join a specialist provision in Gloucester, supporting pupils aged 8–16 across three dedicated sites.

About the Role

You will be working within a nurturing and supportive environment designed to help students who experience anxiety around attending school. The provision is split across three sites:

  • Primary provision (ages 8–11)
  • Secondary provision (ages 11–16)
  • Girls’ provision

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, helping them to engage with learning and develop confidence in a safe and structured setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Help students regulate emotions and build positive relationships
  • Support the delivery of tailored learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
  • Promote a calm, consistent, and supportive environment

Requirements

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Calm, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Full UK driving licence (essential) – you will be required to drive school vehicles to transport students between locations
