Join Our Team as a 1:1 Tutor - Make a Meaningful Impact on a Child's Education. Teaching Personnel is committed to delivering high-quality, tailored 1:1 tuition to young people currently outside of formal education. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate tutors who are passionate about supporting learners with diverse and often complex needs. This is an opportunity to make a real difference - providing personalised support to pupils who face significant barriers to education.

About the Role: As a 1:1 tutor, you will work with students in their homes or local community settings. These learners are not currently in school and require bespoke educational support to help them re-engage with learning and reach their full potential. Our pupils present with a range of needs, including:

  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and general learning difficulties
  • Children in Care requiring catch-up support due to disrupted education
  • School-refusing pupils or those experiencing significant mental health challenges
  • Asylum seekers who need support adapting to a new education system
  • Young people excluded from mainstream school settings

Who This Role Suits: This position is ideal for:

  • Experienced tutors or educators with a strong track record of supporting children
  • Individuals with a genuine interest in helping pupils overcome personal and educational challenges

Assignments typically range from 1 to 15 hours per week, allowing for a high degree of flexibility and autonomy.

Subjects Covered: English, Mathematics, Science, Life Skills, Transition Support (e.g., reintegration into school). We work with students aged 4 to 19, and we will aim to match you with learners in the age group and subject area most suited to your expertise.

Requirements: QTS, QTLS, is preferred but not a must. Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
