Teaching Personnel is recruiting Sports Science graduates for Teaching Assistant, Learning Support, and Cover Supervisor roles across Gateshead secondary schools from September 2026. What the role involves:
- Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in a classroom and pastoral capacity
- Assisting PE teachers and wider subject staff with lesson delivery
- Working with students who may present with behavioural or SEMH needs
- Supervising classes and delivering pre-set work where required
- Contributing to extracurricular sport and wider school activities where appropriate
What we're looking for:
- A degree in Sports Science, Sport and Exercise Science, or a related discipline
- Enthusiasm for working with secondary aged young people
- A confident, energetic, and professional approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
