Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive school in Gateshead from September 2026. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils across the classroom on a full-time basis
  • Working closely with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and interventions
  • Providing both 1:1 and small group support where required
  • Helping to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ childcare experience
  • Previous experience supporting SEND pupils is essential
  • A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
