Teaching Personnel is looking for Academic Mentors to support secondary schools and colleges in the Gateshead area. This is your chance to guide small groups and individual students through key learning milestones, helping them gain confidence, improve study skills, and achieve their potential.
- Supporting students across core subjects such as English, Maths and Science
- Guiding learners through challenging concepts, exam preparation, and study strategies
- Delivering targeted short academic interventions to help students progress
- Supporting classroom learning alongside teachers and staff
- Encouraging good study routines and independent learning
- Tracking student progress and sharing insights with teaching staff
We are looking for:
- Graduates, tutors, or anyone with strong academic skills
- Calm, patient communicators who can simplify complex ideas
- People who can motivate and inspire students consistently and positively
- Candidates able to obtain an enhanced DBS
